Profile of the author

Anthony Browne (born 11 September 1946) is one of the most acclaimed British authors and illustrators of children´s books with nearly 40 books to his name. Two of them, Gorila and Piggybook, are part of the project of the European Children´s Travelling Language Library EuroLib, and help children gain insight into British culture and language. Anthony Browne was as well the previous Children´s Laureate which is a position awarded in the UK once every two years to a distinguished writer or illustrator of children's books. On June 2011, Julia Donaldson was named the on-coming Children's Laureate. She is the author of the book The Gruffalo contained as well in the EuroLib library.
